# Farming
Sow, water, harvest.
    
Hoe a square, sow a seed, water it, and come back when the leaves start to sway.
Crops only grow while they are watered, and the water dries overnight. Rain does the job for you, which makes a wet morning worth waking up for.
A new farmer grows carrots and nothing else. Everything after that opens as your farming level climbs, and until it does the shop will not sell you the seed.
## What grows
             
Nineteen crops, opening roughly in that order. Early ones are quick and cheap. Later ones take most of a session and are worth a great deal more.
Some crops keep producing after the first harvest instead of needing resowing.

## Quality
Every harvest can come up better than ordinary.
   
Silver is uncommon. Gold is rare. Diamond is a story you tell people. They are worth more and they look better, but a good field still makes its money on ordinary crops.
## Magical crops
   
Rarer strains that glow in the dark, take far longer to grow and sell for far more. They also leave behind an essence, which the kitchen can use.
The apothecary sells the seed, once you are good enough to plant it.
## What to do with a harvest
Eat it, cook it, feed it to your animals, fill a delivery order, or sell it. Most recipes take any crop at all, so a surplus of anything is useful.
